Student Teachers

Hello! My name is Grace Russell. I grew up in Kenosha, WI, where I attended Shoreland Lutheran High School, and I currently live in Beaver Dam, WI. I am a double Secondary Education major at MLC for Math and Physics, and I’m looking forward to graduating this December after completing my student teacher under Professor Grunwald in the math department. I will be receiving my first call in May, and I’m excited to see where the Lord sends me. A fun fact about me is that I am very involved with Truth in Love Ministry and (so far) have participated in four trips to Utah and Arizona. One of my favorite bible passages is 2 Corinthians 12:9, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." I’m looking forward to finishing my student teaching semester here at LPS and am excited for what lies ahead!

Hello! My name is Sarah Hoffe. I am from Nodine, MN, where I have lived my entire life. I attended Luther High School in Onalaska, WI, where I played tennis and sang in the choir as well. In my senior year of high school, I decided that I wanted to become a Spanish teacher. So, I went to MLC after graduation and became a Spanish major. After three and a half years, I am graduating in December! This semester here at Luther Prep with the help and guidance of Prof. Erin Notting is my last semester as a student before I become a teacher! It's so exciting! I can't wait to get to know everyone here and enjoy this student-teaching experience. I plan on taking my first call in May of 2025. I am also getting married in May, so the call will likely be back to the Mequon/Milwaukee area. I can't wait to see what God has planned for me. My favorite Bible passage is Psalm 118:24: This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
